Dotz Drift in Slovakia

Adam Kerenyi’s Comeback
Dotz Teamrider on Podium at King of Europe in Slovakia

It was almost 40° Celsius in the shade when the best European drifters met at the beginning of July for the third King of Europe race. This time, four drivers represented Dotz, all with different versions of the Dotz Fast Seven: the Italians Diego Quaranta and Marco Blasutta, Norwegian Viking Stian Jacobsen and the Hungarian 2009 champion, Adam Kerenyi, who drove a newly tuned BMW E36. And he did it very well, as a matter of fact: Kerenyi ended up in this drift series’ third event’s final. And this time, there was also a bird’s-eye view, when Dotz premiered its helicam. It was indeed the first time ever that a drift race was shot from up high.

While Diego Quaranta and Stian Jacobsen were losing their battles by a whisker in the first knock-out round, the weekend’s highlight took place when Dotz Teamrider Marco Blasutta fought against Benjamin Boulbes. The Frenchman was in top form once again and after two almost perfect rounds did indeed beat Blasutta, before being knocked out himself in the next round. In the semi-final, Ciortan Calin, from Romania, was able to beat Dawid Karkosik, Poland, in two clear rounds. In the other semi-final, Adam Kerenyi had to take
on.

Adrian Pekala, also from Poland. The Hungarian won the first run 7:3, thanks to a better drift angle. The 5:5 re-run then let the Dotz Teamrider enter the final. So it was Kerenyi vs. Calin in the big showdown of the King of Europe series. The Romanian, up front in the first run, was able to keep Kerenyi in check and won the first battle 6:4. In the re-run, however, the Hungarian also beat Calin 6:4 and the final was going to extra time. After another 6:4 for Calin, the Romanian could defend himself against Kerenyi’s attacks in the re-run and won this very close race.
